KABOOMASAUR

This was a doodle that I did to break radio silence more than anything else. I haven't been happy with my drawings for a while so I am just going to try to push through that via drawing a lot, and throwing a lot away. The composition of this piece would probably be a lot better had I spent more time on the background, but I'll be honest and say that I didn't think too hard about this piece. Maybe I should suck it up and finally do 30 monsters in 30 days. I should finish laying out my comic before that, though. I'm only 9ish pages into it, and there's 160 total. So, I need to step up production a little bit.

Recent Redo

This is the difference between January 2010 and February 2011. Most of it is tightening up my anatomy, which I'll freely admit that a lot of people move a lot faster doing that than I have. There's part of me that likes the head on last years drawing a little more. I feel a little more self-conscience about going crazy with expressions until I get a good feel of how the face actually works.
Looking at it now, I think the way SOME of the lighting works in the first picture is a little more telling for the picture than the second, but overall I'm happier with the second. Also I don't think I ever posted the first one for whatever reason. Maybe I posted it on Deviant Art or something. I think it's time for me to draw some guys or funny animals or something.

Go! Go! Girls!

I was looking at blogs of 60s fashion all day, so I wanted to draw some girls dancing. I think I'll try some lankier people later on. They seem to lend themselves to dancing poses a little better. I've been trying different things here and there. The girl on top was me trying new things, the girl on bottom is not. Though, I forgot to resize the first picture up from exporting, so the other drawing is a drawn 75% smaller than the other, which, when they're this small (the second picture is full size here) that's kind of a big deal.

I guess if they're dancing to anything, it'd be "The Harlem Shuffle" by Bob and Earl.

Girl Doodle 2

Did a girl drawing at work today to warm up. The Cintiq 12wx is a real jim-dandy of a tool, I find.
