This was not my initial idea for this picture. INITIALLY I wanted to have it be outline less, but since I designed it with heavy outlines, an unforeseen problem occurred. BEHOLD:
I really, REALLY let this picture get away from me. ALSO he has the legs of a chubby woman, which is entirely my fault for going off of the outlines. I worked blindly with what I had, as this was an exercise in a coloring technique I heard about yesterday and wanted to try.
I've wanted to experiment with illustrations sans outlines, but I think I have to start on physical media, because I like to toy with my lines too much in digital. Everything got pushed out and made fatter by going without outlines in a picture designed to have them. I had to make due with the picture at the top as final, even though there was quite a bit of work put into the piece without outlines. Sometimes you have to make compromises in things like this.
