So I took photographs from my reference collection and decided to finally do some tone studies. The first one was tough because it was a bad quality photograph that I was going off of, so I had to make some leaps of faith. No big deal, because i kind of like the way it turned out, even if the expression isn't as good as the one from the photograph.
That said the second one is really well done, but creeps me out because one of the eyes is slightly off. When I finally brought that picture into the program I was using I found out what the problem was: I drew the head at the wrong angle.

I think I just liked the rough so much that I went for it before double checking like I should have. At least this is a skill I know I have in me.
