Red Hot Keys 1
So after the Alligator from Preston Blair I thought it would be a good idea to start on Red Hot Riding Hood. Then I saw that there was a squirrel skip in the book. So while I really enjoy final lining this, the squirrel would probably be a good jumping off point for actual animation and final line. I have company over and this is a simple thing I can do when we're just lounging around. The final lining. ALSO it looks really nice in ANIMATE but sometimes it doesn't exactly export swfs the way I'd like it to.

Roughodile Stage One Complete
Ok, so this is the first pass of the basic shapes. It's my fault that the colors aren't consistent.
The Preston Blair book "Cartoon Animation" actually has several of these, I will try each, but this one in particular is the only one that doesn't have any timing charts. The Red Hot Riding Hood animation has a very thorough one. SO my instinct was to do these as even inbetweens. If you save the swf and open it in Flash or ToonBoom you can see that I did all the even numbered frames, and a couple in a row towards the end.
ANY critique is welcome. I'm doing this to improve.
All things considered this definitely LOOKS like the hardest one to do, and maybe when I start final lining it it will be, but Mr. Blair didn't really leave anything to chance for this animation as far as inbetweens go

Roughodile 2
Something noteworthy from the last post, not seen here, is that I accidentally switched the legs for a single frame. When you're working as rough as I am, and I should really work in more colors than I have, then it can get hard to get everything just the way you want it to be. I whited out the legs, so if you were to open this and make the background a different color you could see those, though they DO strobe after a certain point.

roughs for Blair part 1
The idea of doing this whole animation with final line is a pretty tall order, though I imagine it wouldn't be that hard to find the model sheets for these Fantasia alligators
