This took a long time!
The main reason being that I kept taking breaks during it. I was surprised to find that the time was 10 o'clockish when I finished it, as I started it at noon! Granted I took two hour long breaks, and spent a deal of time on the internet. AND I forgot to put cast shadows on this. AND I mostly listened to the soundtrack from Henry Hatsworth while doing this.Another ArtRage painting. I figured out this time that if you export it as a photoshop file that it just decides to not cooperate with you. It mostly comes from the fact that a multiply layer in ArtRage is COMPLETELY different than one in Photoshop (you get some degree of a tint in ArtRage) That said, I am pretty happy with how this one turned out for the most part. I did a lot more of the ground reflection that Sherm over at Cartoon Snap did on his, and I think it gives it a little more of a natural feel to it. Also the Roller tool is great for backgrounds!

Earth Day?

My way of celebrating Earth Day was doing a completely digital picture, and I got done with it with barely a minute to spare. ALSO I noticed recently that I draw people with really short legs, so I thought that I might as well give a drawing longer legs. This is another ArtRage practice picture. I noticed today that it REALLY matters how fast you go with the scraper, otherwise crazy paint stuff will happen, and as I've only ever used water colors I'm not sure what's happening besides extreme sadness. I hope it's not readily apparent that I figured that out halfway through this picture.
Also I like the Jumpskirt a lot. I'm not sure if that's what anyone calls it, but the dress that's a kind of built like a jumpsuit? I approve on the grounds that The Ghostbusters have forever made me a fan of jumpsuits. Even though the halloween "sexy ghostbuster" outfit looked REALLY super lame to me.
Really a sexy ghostbuster? I'm under the impression that one would not worry about being sexy when fighting metaphysical monsters. That's me! I don't understand under-dressed female knights and warriors either. I guess my brain closed the gap in my brain where "sexy = logic no longer need apply" occurs.
That sort of thing should happen to everyone in the video game industry.

Robin's Egg Blues

Today was an AMAZINGLY beautiful day in the Chicago land area, so the lady and I went to the park to draw and be happy we aren't having children, when this robin came by and perched on the border of the grass and wood-chips and started tweeting this horrible grating song. I've never heard ANYTHING so terrible from such a common bird outside of seagulls.
And then it pooped and stopped singing.
Another attempt at ArtRaging it up.

more DS

The top one is my step-half-nephew(?)'s character that they asked me to draw. They're good kids. They're struggling with art right now, because they're 12 and 13, which is the perfect time to struggle. The other one is PURE CLASS.

DS!

I got COLOURS for the DS, and it's really a wonderful program. It's an undo button and layers away from being exactly what I needed it to be. Since there's NOT an undo button, I ran into the unfortunate problem of the fact that the ropes in that boy's hand aren't quite right, but it's still a jim-dandy of a program to work with!

Art Rage Angel

I just started using Art Rage the other day, and it's quite a confusing program to my brain. I'm used to dealing in absolutes via Photoshop and Flash, so this program requires some finesse that I currently am trying to aquire.
Also I guess I should mention that on the train recently I thought a cool game for an XBLA, WiiWare or PSN title would be a platformer where you play as an angel or demon trying to deliver mail to underworldly monsters. Kind of a verticle side scroller like Kid Icarus maybe.
