I decided to go through all my old posts and get rid of them, but while going through, I found this blog from what seems like forever ago, and the picture that I'm keeping on here is actually a super important one.Who it is isn't important. I mean, to me and her it might be, but for the point itself, it is not important. What this picture represents is a turning point in my life as a draftsman. Before August 6th, 2006, I don't have a single picture in my library that I could show someone and say "see I'm an artist." This is the first picture that I can say that I drew free hand that actually says "Yes, I can draw, I can draw a relatively realistic likeness of someone, and not just a super simplified iconic representation of them"
It's a good feeling to know that I've only grown since then. It's now October 30th, 2007, over a year since I finally broke down the barrier of bad artistry and started getting closer to being able to draw the way I want to. I guess I missed the anniversary of it to make an update about it, but the date itself isn't too important. It's the fact that after this specific point in time I realized that I might actually be able to get a job in the industry I hold so dear to my heart.
In fact, mostly for sentimental reasons, this picture is still in my portfolio.
